Essentially self-taught, Malangatana produced a vast work in painting and he is now one of the best-known African painters at international level. Represented in numerous museums and private collections around the world, exhibited in many countries of Africa, Europe and Asia, Malangatana is a multifaceted creator, who gave expression to his art in various forms such as dance, music, poetry, theater, tapestry, ceramics and sculpture. His work proves without a doubt the strength of his African roots.
