Rocha de Sousa
Manuel Rocha de Sousa is graduated in Painting from Fine Arts High School of Lisbon, where he also developed academic career as University Professor. Alongside, he developes his artistic activity in individual and group exhibitions in Portugal and abroad, since 1964, of which we highlight the exhibitions at the Gallery of Modern Art (SNBA), Quadrante, Bertrand, 111, Diário de Notícias, Museum of Angola and the Municipal Gallery of Almada. He devoted himself to TV cinema and cultural series, developing in this field several work tests, some integrated into the curriculum of his academic career. He devoted himself with great commitment to the reform of Superior Studies of Fine Arts, and he is a prominent figure in the insertion of the School of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon. In last years he has been dedicated to research work in the arts and art criticism (at newspaper JL), developing his theoretical and practical research in art and art theory, with publications in the area (Teaching of Visual Education) along with studies published by Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda.
